This course is designed to provide the technical and practical information necessary to prepare a person to act as an effective Industrial Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). It will also be useful for anyone who may be required to act as an Alternate or Assistant RSO. This course includes a review of basic radiation and radioactivity, operational aspects and practical guidance in radiation safety programs management. In addition it examines all applicable regulations of the NRC, Agreement States and DOT and provides suggestions for assessing and improving program performance.
This course has been developed for Radioactive Material Users, Gauge Users, Radiation Safety & Industrial Hygiene Personnel, Plant Personnel, Well-Loggers, Industrial Radiographers and others who need a working knowledge of NRC or Agreement State regulations and how to administer a radiation safety program in compliance with those requirements. Also serves as excellent refresher for those needing an update on regulatory requirements.
